Journey to the Heart of the Land with
Scott Sheerin
|
"We’ve been taught that prayer is a conversation, not just presenting a list of requests, but rather presenting ourselves and acknowledging the deities and making our request, and then being open to listening to the response, whether it shows up in that moment or somewhere else in our life."
--Scott Sheerin
Deeply immerse yourself in the sacred land and waters of the Blue Deer Center by joining Scott Sheerin on a “Journey to the Heart of the Land”. In our everyday lives, in the midst of all of the “noise” upon our senses, we have forgotten how to listen, how to connect with our surroundings. Through the full experience of the aliveness of the natural world, we can begin to relearn this important way of moving through our lives with more integrity.
We will kindle a sacred fire and with its heart-connecting blessings begin to slow down and open to the song of the land, as the stream and winds guide us to an experience of deep listening. Within the sacred song of this place we will begin to hear the song of our own heart.
Together and individually we will explore the timeless tradition of making gratitude offerings to the plants and stream and rocks and trees. Slowing the mind and living simply through heart we will step into the dream of nature, recognizing our connectedness with the sacred world around us.
By spending time around the sacred fire and guided deep listening to nature, Scott will lead us through an introduction to ritual space and making gratitude offerings, and to the conversation of prayer and healing music. During our time together, there will be free moments to walk and explore the lands of the Blue Deer Center.
