Fireball 2012:

Celebrating Our Elders

"Even if you isolate yourself from your family the wounds of the separation remain. The invisible umbilical cord is still alive and it never stops pulling at you. There is no such thing as a one-person family; there is no one without roots. So far, no human being has fallen from the sky." -- Sobonfu Somé, from Falling Out of Grace

We have come to take this time to remember a few important things. To celebrate our accomplishments. To approach our purpose in life with joy, humor, and love. To dance to our heart's content. And last but not least, to honor our elders, without whom none of this would be possible. Through this exchange of honoring and celebrating our elders, we find our true purpose, and the wisdom can continue to be passed down.

This year, we welcome to our Center a variety of elders who are dedicated to maintaining their traditions.
