Spring Work Retreat

Friday to Sunday; Potluck dinner and arrival on Thursday

Iyari is something we give away, with no expectation of return. It is a love offering to our people now and in the future.

Those of us who have been involved with the Blue Deer Center as volunteers and staff have come to see this work as our practice. We see and feel how this selfless love and support gives birth to a “home” for all of us, nourishing each person who spends time on the land and with the River, reconnecting with ourselves, nature, and others.

And so, it is with a warm welcome that we extend this invitation to each of you to share in the beautiful experience of awakening this space and filling it with laughter, fire, and community during our 2012 Spring Work Retreat!

On Thursday, March 29th, we will be hosting a ‘Welcome Home’ potluck dinner beginning at 5 PM. Delight in the culinary treats of others, and gather around a social fire to share your hearts. Whether you come only for the potluck, or stay for the entire weekend, consider this your ‘Welcome Home’ celebration as well.

Prepare yourselves for a special welcome home evening around the Fire on Saturday night! We will feature a teaching fire with local Marakames in the Huichol tradition facilitating.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday during the day, we’ll spend some time outside stacking wood, clear the trail by the River, spend more time around the fire and begin to awaken the center after a long winter’s sleep. Regardless of the task at hand, the opportunity to play, visit, and eat while sharing in the joy of community, and the spirit of the land will be priceless.

And it's free...
