Planting the Seeds: Annual Campaign 2011

Dear Friends,

Long ago, the indigenous peoples of the Catskills regularly visited sacred places throughout the region. At some of these sites, they built lodges and gathered around sacred council fires to resolve their differences, to heal, and recover balance. The Blue Deer Center has “re-discovered” such a place. The Center exists today to continue the sacred work begun ages ago and to bring forward many ancestral traditions.

This year’s we are Planting the Seeds. We have a full and dedicated staff at the Center. We have a full program season ahead. Our marketing efforts are geared to reach an ever-wider audience with an appealing product and message. Fundraising has a Capital Campaign, a monthly donor program, a revamped Fireball, a defined grant seeking process in place, a new intimate approach to special events, and some other tasting plantings to surprise you with in 2011.

The 2011 Planting the Seeds Annual Campaign goal is $225,000. These funds will go to support traditional Elders coming to the Center, the day-to-day operations, maintenance of our facilities, and increasing our visibility in the world.
