Capital Campaign

The Blue Deer Center is in the process of our first formal Capital Campaign. The Center has matured over the years to a stage where we understand our mission – to provide a Home for Ancestral Traditions – and our needs in order to fulfill this mission. Beyond our normal operating budget, we have financial needs that must be met if we are to grow and be of extraordinary service to you.

As the next part of this process, the Center staff and volunteers will be bringing the campaign to you. Over the past year, one of the Committees for this campaign – which we have named the Dreamcatchers – has been talking with all our stakeholders about their current involvement with the Center, as well as their desires and wishes for its future. There are no limits to one’s dreams. Dreams allow an awareness of the possibilities coming to us. We have compiled these dreams, which were presented by K’anna Burton in our December 2011 eNews.

These dreams have been captured and understood, this year the Communications Committee members will be sharing them with us all, keeping us informed of where the BDC is going and how. This committee will be making sure that everyone stays aware of the Center, how people and groups see us, and our role in the story that includes the Sacred Fire Community and the Sacred Fire Foundation. Through this work, we intend to keep a continuous circle of information flowing, a transparency, so that we are all moving together.

Once we have finished capturing the dreams and integrated them, the Nuts and Bolts Committee will research the specifics of costs and help generate timelines.

We are very excited about this campaign, not only for what it will bring to the Center, but also for the opportunity that it affords us to connect with each and everyone of you.

With thanks,
